About Magnolia ADR

Meet your mediator:
My name is Jamie. I was born and raised in Southeast Louisiana. My journey into mediation began with my own personal struggles- a teen mom, messy divorce, difficult custody battles, and learning the complexities of the court system that seemed to be against me, all while raising two children on my own and caring for others in our community. Witnessing its flaws firsthand, I was inspired to create a more compassionate and accessible path to resolution. One focused on the parties and their peace rather than strict rules and financial gain.
Starting out as a teen mom, I was married with two babies before I turned 17, divorced and a single mom by 18, and I had to be an adult long before I was one legally. I worked multiple jobs, finished high school a year early, even put myself through nursing school and started working as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2005, at age 22.
My own experiences ignited a passion within me to make a difference for others who, like me, might not have unlimited funds or access to legal expertise for court appearances. I wanted to give back, not just as a nurse caring for others, but to do more and be the kind of helping hand that I once needed.
In 2018, I went back to college to study law and understand how I could help others avoid the pain and confusion I had endured over the prior 17 years dealing with my ex and family court.
In 2021, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Services and Support with a focus in Paralegal Services from Purdue University, followed by an Executive Juris Doctor degree from Purdue University Law School in 2025, specializing in Rural Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution/Mediation. I also have additional certifications, including from Clio in Basic Mediation, and I am currently working towards becoming court-certified in Louisiana.
While working towards court-certification to be on the Louisiana registry, I am dedicated to offering my affordable, professional services to all those who are ready to collaborate and reach amicable agreements. I also offer income-based, sliding-scale, reduced rates for those experiencing financial hardship- just be sure to request during your initial intake consultation. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you.
~Jamie
I have also authored several books to help with these confusing topics.
